Kamehameha takes ILH girls paddling title

Kamehameha captured the Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls outrigger canoe paddling championship yesterday with a win in the regular-season finale.
The Warriors finished the 5-mile course in 55 minutes, 12 seconds to beat second-place Punahou by 44 seconds.
Mid-Pacific finished third, followed by 'Iolani, Pac-Five, Maryknoll and Sacred Hearts.
Ulu Oclit, Courtney-Rhyan Turner, Koala Matsuoka, Hoku Keala, Emma Galdeira and Kelia Parilla made up the winning crew. The course was from Magic Island to Waikiki to Kewalo Buoy and back to Magic Island.
