Aviation program seeks applicants
If you're aged 15 to 20 and have the dream of flight, consider applying for Island Air's first Explorer Program.
Fifteen students will be accepted into the 10-week program that will cover aviation careers such as flight attendant, pilot, aircraft mechanic and dispatcher.
Applications for the program will be accepted only at an orientation session, 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bishop Museum's Atherton Halau. For information or to download an application visit www.islandair.com (click on “;About Us”;).

Schlessinger to talk at event
Radio's “;Dr. Laura”; will be the keynote speaker at the American Advertising Federation-Hawaii's 2009 Advertising Conference on Jan. 27 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel.
Dr. Laura Schlessinger, who has dispensed advice on her radio talk show for more than 30 years, will speak on “;The Making of the Dr. Laura Brand.”;
Joining her as presenters will be Jan Sage, vice president of marketing and promotion for ABC National Television Sales, a former Hawaii resident now based in New York.
Conference fee is $160 until Jan. 23, which includes all sessions, the keynote lunch. Morning session only is $85; afternoon session is $35; the or the keynote lunch is $65. Fees go up after the 23rd. Discounts are offered for students and Ad2 members.
