A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 25 at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo for Mike Sakamoto, host of the popular “;Fishing Tales with Mike Sakamoto”; television show.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. at the mortuary.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, memorial donations be made to the Pacific Islands Fisheries Group, 150 Hamakua Drive, Kailua, HI 96734.

Sakamoto, 59, of Hilo, died Wednesday in Honolulu where he was receiving treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
