Bench warrant possible for Dizon
BOULDER, Colo. » A judge plans to issue a bench warrant once prosecutors file paperwork against Detroit Lions linebacker Jordon Dizon for allegedly failing to show proof he completed community service for a drunken driving conviction.
Boulder County prosecutors said Friday they will file a contempt of court motion against Dizon, a former Waimea and Colorado standout, because they never got a notice that he completed 24 hours of community service. The 22-year-old pleaded guilty in September for an April arrest in which police say his blood-alcohol level was 0.097, above the legal limit of 0.08.
The Lions drafted Dizon six days after the arrest.
Dizon's attorney, Peter Schaffer, says the documents were faxed and the court should have them.
