Woman allegedly makes bad buy

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman for allegedly using false information to buy more than $300 worth of jewelry from an Ala Moana area department store.

Police said the woman made two separate purchases at 8:40 p.m. Thursday at the fine-jewelry department at a department store .

The store employees stopped the woman before leaving the store after they discovered she allegedly used fraudulent information to buy the jewelry, police said.

Police arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree theft and a bench warrant.

Man held in attack on Christmas Day

Police arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday for allegedly threatening to kill his mother and her boyfriend on Dec. 25.

Police said a 51-year-old woman and her 53-year-old boyfriend returned to their Nanakuli home at 8:27 Christmas night to find the back door broken down. In the home was the woman's son, who had been kicked out.

Police said the son chased the couple into the bedroom with a sledgehammer, threatening to kill them. The son allegedly used the hammer to break the bedroom door down and fled.

Police located and arrested the son on suspicion of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree criminal property damage.

2 teens arrested in theft of iPod

Police arrested two boys, ages 14 and 15, who allegedly robbed a 15-year-old boy of his iPod yesterday in Aiea.

Police said the victim was walking home at 3 p.m. near Hekaha Street and Moanalua Road when he was approached by two teens who asked to see his iPod.

One suspect allegedly grabbed the boy's arm, and the other allegedly grabbed the iPod earphones and the iPod, police said.

The two suspects ran to Pearlridge Center, and police caught the suspects.

The victim identified the suspects in a field lineup, and they were arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Robber claims to be police officer

Police arrested a 35-year-old man who was allegedly one of two suspects who pretended to be law enforcement officers during a home robbery.

At about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 29, two men approached a 37-year-old man in his Waipahu home, claiming to be police officers investigating a drug complaint.

The suspects allegedly demanded drugs and money and struck the victim in the chest with the butt of a handgun. The suspects fled on foot after taking some property. After an investigation, police tracked down a suspect, a 35-year-old man, Thursday and booked him on suspicion of first-degree robbery and first-degree impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

Police are still looking for the other suspect.
