Southern California punksters D.I. return to Honolulu this weekend for a pair of shows at Anna Bannana's. Friday's 18-and-over show will feature a $10 cover and opening sets by Saggy Teri and the Meat Curtains, Mistermeaner, Old Habits Die Hard and O.D.M. starting at 8 p.m. Saturday will be an all-ages affair, with Make the Change, Urban Struggle and Purple Kid starting the night at 6 p.m. Cover is $5.

Local promoters BAMP Project continue to stay ahead of the curve in 2009, hosting artists that have seen some success without yet becoming household names.

Compton-based rapper Tyga (pictured) is the next to get a push from BAMP with a headlining set at Pipeline on Saturday. The cousin of Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy, Tyga has gotten airtime on MTV with his debut single, “;Coconut Juice,”; released last year. Doors open at 10 p.m.
