Woman accused of helping runaway
Police arrested a 34-year-old woman for allegedly trying to help a 15-year-old girl run away from home.
At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect unexpectedly showed up at her neighbor's home in the Moanalua military housing area, assaulted the girl's 18-year-old sister and helped the 15-year-old run away, police said. The 34-year-old woman and the girl went to the suspect's house.
Military police were called, and they asked for Honolulu police assistance.
Honolulu police officers arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree burglary and second-degree custodial interference.
The 18-year-old woman received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Man nabbed after shooting in Kalihi
A 19-year-old homeless man was arrested yesterday morning for allegedly trying to kill a teenage boy by firing a shot on Halloween night in Kalihi.
Police arrested the man at 7 a.m. yesterday at a Mililani home on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. Honolulu police Maj. Frank Fujii said the man discharged a firearm on Mokauea Street and injured the boy, who ran to a nearby park.

Device explodes at video store
Police are looking for an unknown suspect who dropped a small homemade explosive at a video store early this morning.
At about 12:15 a.m. at a video store at a Mililani shopping center, employees were cleaning up and closing the business. An unknown suspect dropped an explosive device into their video drop box.
Police said the device blew up, but caused little to no damage, leaving only residue in the drop box. It was made from something resembling a 1-liter plastic soda bottle. The case has been forwarded to the major crimes unit, and the suspect is wanted for first-degree reckless endangerment.

Woman is arrested in credit card theft
Police arrested a 34-year-old woman Wednesday after she allegedly used an unauthorized credit card number.
The suspect had allegedly used the unauthorized number to reserve a room at a Waikiki hotel and make purchases there.
When the charges exceeded $1,000, the woman was unable to pay.
Police were called and arrested her on suspicion of second-degree theft, as well as on an outstanding traffic arrest warrant.
Police seek man in sex-assault try
Police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a 22-year-old woman in Waikiki.
The woman reported that an unknown man tried to assault her sometime between 4 and 7:15 a.m. yesterday, police said. The case is being investigated.
