SBS Open pre-qualifier at Turtle Bay
The LPGA's SBS Open will hold a pre-qualifier Feb. 8 for amateurs to vie for a spot in the tournament's Feb. 9 qualifier at the Turtle Bay Resort's Fazio Course.
The SBS Open is the LPGA Tour's first full-field event of the season and will take place Feb. 12-14 at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course.
The LPGA allows for two amateurs to play in the Monday qualifier, with the rest of the field comprised of non-exempt tour players.
The entry fee for the pre-qualifier is $75, with all proceeds benefiting the North Shore Youth Athletic Foundation.
Hanato lifts Hawaii-Hilo past BYUH
Junior Jessica Hanato's jumper with 6 seconds left proved to be the game-winner as Hawaii-Hilo edged Brigham Young-Hawaii 59-57 yesterday in women's basketball at Laie.
Ashley Kualii led Hawaii-Hilo (6-3, 1-1) with 18 points and six assists. Junior guard Hina Kimitete added 15 points.
Latoya Wily led the Seasiders (4-6, 0-1) with 14 points.

Lucas Alves notched a double-double for the Seasiders (8-1, 1-0 PacWest with 26 points with 10 rebounds.
Four players scored in double figures for the Vulcans (7-5, 1-1), led by Jay DeMaestri with 19.
