Central Pacific Bank robber sought
Police are looking for a man in his mid-30s wanted in the first bank robbery of the year.
At about 9:45 a.m. yesterday, the suspect entered the Mapunapuna branch of Central Pacific Bank, at 960 Mapunapuna St., approached the teller and demanded money, police said. He was last seen fleeing on foot southbound on Mapunapuna Street.
The suspect is described to be about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 160 to 180 pounds, and was wearing a dark blue short-sleeve T-shirt and dark blue sweat pants with pockets. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

Foul play dismissed for body at falls
WAILUA, Kauai » Authorities on Kauai say no foul play is suspected in the death of a man found at the bottom of Wailua Falls.
A visitor discovered the body Thursday afternoon. The cause of death has not been determined.
A helicopter was used to airlift the body out of the area.
Officials say the man's name is being withheld pending positive identification by next of kin.
Information wanted on Big Island blaze
Big Island police are asking for the public's help in determining the cause of a New Year's Day fire that displaced nine college students in Hilo.
The fire on Halaulani Place started at about 2 a.m. and destroyed a five-story home on a steep slope and two vehicles in a carport.
A police news release said fire investigators were unable to immediately determine the cause of the blaze.
