Holiday overload
POSTED: Monday, December 29, 2008
'Twas the day after Christmas, and as I looked through the house
I found mountains of leftovers and my gravy-stained blouse.
There was food in the fridge that was stacked with great care
As if the fridge knew that soon I'd be there.
I should have avoided the fridge and gone straight to my bed
But ignoring my diet, I resumed eating instead.
Now turkey, now fruitcake, now ham and now pies
My belly couldn't handle what I saw with my eyes.
But Santa reappeared and saw my distress
And gave a present to combat the stress.
He sprang to his sleigh, saying Merry Christmas to all
And left me a bottle of Pepto-Bismol.
