New Year's Eve service to include organ recital

St. Andrew's Cathedral in downtown Honolulu will offer a serene and spiritual alternative to the noisy revelry on New Year's Eve.

The Rev. Tim Sexton, provost of the Episcopal church, will offer a midnight blessing of the city at the service, which begins at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

An organ recital of festive music by John Renke, director of music and liturgy, will be followed by an 11 p.m. Holy Eucharist service.

The public is welcome.
