Amanda Corby selected for Moana Events position

Moana Events hired Amanda Corby as consulting director. She was previously marketing and events manager for Special Olympics Hawaii and has eight years' experience in public relations and marketing.
Bank of Hawaii will award $10,000 to Honolulu Community Action Program Inc. for its capacity-building efforts, particularly its employment and training programs for families facing severe hardships.
The Domestic Violence Action Center of Honolulu appointed to its board of directors new members Kathryn Acorda of Kiewit Building Group, Francie Boland of Hawaii Medical Service Association, Kari Leong of Greater Good, Nora Nomura of Hawaii Government Employees Association and Wilhelmina Young of Kalaeloa Partners.
The Hawaii Nurses Association, which represents 4,000 registered nurses and health care providers, elected Patt A. Gibbs as the union's new executive director. Gibbs is a labor attorney and former union president with experience in California and Texas.
