2007: Before his breakout rookie season with the Tennessee Titans, Chris Johnson closes his East Carolina career with a dazzling performance, rushing for 224 yards in the Pirates' 41-38 win Boise State 41-38. His 408 all-purpose yards sets the NCAA bowl record.

Receiving

2004 and 2006: Jason Rivers ran wild in his Hawaii Bowl appearances. He caught 11 passes for 148 yards against UAB in '04, then topped that performance two years later with 14 receptions for 308 yards against Arizona State.

2005: Kamehameha graduate Caleb Spencer shines in his return to Aloha Stadium with 11 receptions for 114 yards in Nevada's win over Central Florida. UCF's Brandon Marshall also snags 11 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns.

Defense

2005: Nevada's Roosevelt Cooks racks up

16 tackles for the Wolf Pack.

2003: Hawaii safety Leonard Peters comes up with 12 stops against Houston, the last coming on a fourth-down stop in the third overtime to end the game.

Returns

2004: Chad Owens caps his Hawaii career with a 59-yard punt return for a touchdown, his fifth of the season.

2007: Boise State's Austin Smith sets a Hawaii Bowl record with an 89-yard return for a touchdown against East Carolina.

Kicking

2002: Future Pro Bowl punter Mat McBriar booms five punts for an average of 53.8 yards in Hawaii's loss to Tulane in the inaugural Hawaii Bowl, including kicks of 73 and 59 yards.

2005: Central Florida's Matt Prater hits the two longest field goals in the game's history, nailing kicks of 47 and 46 yards. But his missed extra point in overtime is the difference in the Knights' loss to Nevada.
