New signing date is set for Laird

Epic surf on Maui prompted waterman and new author Laird Hamilton to postpone last week's scheduled book signing at Borders Waikele.

Hamilton's visit has been moved to tomorrow. Before you go, however, call the store to confirm the appearance.

Hamilton will be signing his book, “;Force of Nature, Mind, Body, Soul, and of Course, Surfing,”; at noon. Call 676-6699.

Von Baron to play at gallery's party

The Louis Pohl Art Gallery is hosting a Christmas party, from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, featuring music by von Baron.

A reception will also be held for an exhibit of work by James Erickson and Margo Goodwill.

The gallery is at the corner of Hotel and Nuuanu streets in Chinatown.

Admission is free. Parking is $3 in the Municipal lot on Bethel Street.
