6 vie for Circuit Court judgeship

Gov. Linda Lingle is seeking public comment on six candidates for a vacancy on the Oahu Circuit Court.
The Judicial Selection Commission selected the candidates after reviewing the applicants' background and qualifications. The commission does not rank them:
» Cecelia Choi Yuk Chang, with the Honolulu prosecutor's office, formerly a special assistant U.S. attorney and formerly with the city Department of the Corporation Counsel.
» Douglas A. Crosier, sole proprietor, Law Office of Douglas A. Crosier, former partner with Rush Moore Craven Sutton Morry and Beh, and with Reinwald O'Connor Marrack Hoskins and Playdon, and a former senior deputy prosecutor.
» Stephen Harris Levins, executive director, Office of Consumer Protection, former associate with Schutter and Glickstein and former deputy corporation counsel and deputy prosecutor.
» Edwin C. Nacino, judge, Oahu District Court, a former trial attorney associate/partner of Roeca, Louie and Hiraoka, and formerly with the Department of the Corporation Counsel.
» Steven Masanobu Nakashima, with Marr Hipp Jones and Pepper, former Oahu district judge, and formerly with Goodsill Anderson Quinn and Stifel.
» Rom Alex Trader, deputy prosecutor and former law clerk for Circuit Judge Ronald Greig.
Public comment submitted can be e-mailed to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or faxed to 586-0006 by 4:30 p.m. Friday. Lingle has until Jan. 2 to make her selection.
