Hit-and-run leads to driver's arrest
Kauai police have charged a suspect in a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Puhi, a county news release said.
David Dotimas, the lone occupant of a two-door Honda sedan, fled the scene after rear-ending another vehicle on Kaumualii Highway at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle chased Dotimas until he stopped at Kauai Nursery & Landscaping.
At the nursery, Dotimas discarded a white plastic bag that contained a .45-caliber handgun and ammunition, police said.
