COMING UP
Watch 'Water' duo ride waves all over the world in new surfing flick
Two boys traveling the world to experience surf and culture. Sound familiar? No, it's not “;Endless Summer,”; but this new film, titled “;Walking on Water,”; looks equally charming. The passion project of filmmaker and professional surfer Bryan Jennings, it started touring the United States in October 2007 and in a grass-roots promotional tour has screened every four days since then.
Jennings' own life-changing cross-country trip at the age of 14 inspired him to provide the same opportunities to two teenage surfers from Orange County, Calif. Together they journey through Hawaii, Peru, Australia, Indonesia, South Africa and France.
The travel (and traveling) flick screens at various location in Hawaii this week. Kauai resident and surf star Bethany Hamilton is featured in the film during a stop in Indonesia and is slated to attend showings on Oahu and Maui. Jennings says the movie “;is a chance for people to see who God is in a really unique way, through the sport of surfing.”; View the trailer at http://www.walkingonwater.com/themovie.
