Bid on resort stays and feed the needy

Midnight is the deadline to make a bid during Starwood Hotels & Resort's “;Big Give Hawaii”; online auction to benefit Hawaii Foodbank, while giving kamaaina families an opportunity to bid on discounted rates for two-night neighbor island stays.

Twenty percent of auction proceeds will go toward helping to feed the hungry on Oahu, the Big Island, Kauai and Maui. Up for grabs:

» A two-night stay at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa on the Big Island. The regular published rate is $700.

» A two-night stay at Sheraton Kauai Resort. The regular published rate is $840.

Winning bidders will be notified via e-mail and must be able to present a Hawaii state ID or Hawaii driver's license to collect their prize. A Starwood Hawaii representative will follow up with the winning bidders via telephone. Travel must take place between Dec. 8 and Jan. 31, 2009.
