C.S. Wo displays designs for holiday entertainment
The tables at C.S. Wo are set with golden pears, pineapples, textured papers and more to showcase the possibilities available for entertaining this holiday season.
In collaboration with the visual designers at Neiman Marcus, “;At Home for the Holidays”; features five tables in the C.S. Wo Gallery dressed in beaded place mats, silverware and china representing traditional holiday to upscale local style.
The “;Island Living”; table is dressed in natural hues representing land and sea with Nativa wood platters ($195) and Atticus ceramicware the color of celadon, embellished with seashells and the gleam of a Hosta stainless-steel pitcher by Michael Aram ($250).
Contemporary “;China”; style is represented by Mottahedeh's five-piece Imperial Blue place setting ($350) and five-piece Blue Dragon place setting ($215) with a centerpiece of a L'Objet Dragon Plate ($800) topped with a chrysanthemum blossom afloat in a glass bowl containing water sparkling with glitter.
The display will be on view 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday, at 702 S. Beretania St. Call 543-5388.

Design an ornament and you'll have a chance at our prize of 10 movie tickets and $100 cash. We'll select a daily finalist, to be printed at the top of this section beginning Dec. 1. On Christmas Day we'll run all 24 finalists and announce the winner.

Keiki swap meet is rescheduled
Last weekend's Keiki Swap Meet at Kakaako Gateway Park was rained out, but it's been rescheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow.
The Children's Discovery Center sponsors the event to give kids a chance to learn the value of money by collecting, pricing and selling their own items. It's free to buyers.

Famous Amos sails aboard Superferry
Cookie maker Wally Amos sails with the Hawaii Superferry Sunday, reading to kids and selling his Chip & Cookie products to benefit Read to Me International.
Amos will appear on the 3 p.m. voyage to Maui and the 8 p.m. return trip to Oahu, available to sign books and T-shirts.
This event will repeat on periodic Friday voyages. Call 877-HI-FERRY.
Nominations for Ola Pona sought
Nominations are being taken for the 2009 Ola Pono awards, recognizing those who promote drug-free lifestyles.
The award is open to individuals and organization, with a $1,000 donation made in the winners' names to the charities of their choice.
Last year's winners included chef Sam Choy for his community service programs targeting youth, Aiea Elementary School teacher John Honjo for his work with students, Sgt. John Kauwenaole for his work at Kuhio Park Terrace, the REAL: Hawaii Youth Movement Against Tobacco and Kaimuki High School's Peer Education Program.
