For the last few months before his regular “;Soul Clap”; party, DJ Eskae (pictured) has tried to reach out to the young, professional crowd with “;5 to 9 at thirtynine,”; a social mixer of sorts before the club craziness gets underway later in the evening.

This week, Eskae partners with Roots Rhythm to benefit the “;Plant the Seed Initiative,”; which will help purchase ukuleles for students at Palolo Elementary. All money collected at the door will benefit the students.

Keep giving thanks this weekend at Tsukiji Fish Market, when FOB Star Entertainment, Moguls, Evol Entity and Kaizo Speed Gear team up to host a benefit party for the Hawaii Food Bank.

Doors open at 10 p.m. for those 21-and-over, and if you bring five canned goods you'll get into the party for free. Bring two cans, and you'll save $5 on the cover charge.
