Question: The satellite city hall in Windward Mall has been closed since Aug. 29. Any idea yet when it will open in the new Kaneohe location?

Answer: The Kaneohe Satellite City Hall, which was scheduled to open this month, is now targeted to open “;pre-Christmas”; in the Windward City Shopping Center, said city administration spokesman Bill Brennan.

The city is working with the shopping center's contractor, who has been delayed in getting the necessary lighting fixtures from the mainland for the new office, he said.

Once the fixtures arrive and are installed, the city Department of Facility Maintenance will install counters and cabinets, refurbished, from the old Windward Mall office.

At that point “;we should be good to go,”; Brennan said.

Until then Kaneohe residents are directed to visit the Kailua Satellite City Hall, go online (http://www.co.honolulu.hi.us/main/ online_services) or use the mail for city services.

The number for the city's Household Hazardous Waste Program is 768-3201. An outdated number was given in Monday's “;Kokua Line.”;
