Walter leads Oaks past Seasiders
Karissa Walter scored 19 points to lead Oakland City (Ind.) to a 73-67 victory over Brigham Young-Hawaii in women's basketball last night in Laie.
Latoya Wily scored 30 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Seasiders (2-1).
The Lady Oaks improved to 2-3.
BYUH dominates conference squad
Brigham Young-Hawaii's Natasha Aiono, Emily Mearns, Becky Ploeger and Stefanie Wright were chosen to the All-PacWest women's soccer team announced yesterday.
Marisa Faye of Chaminade, Melissa Grant of Hawaii-Hilo and Caitlyn McNeely of Hawaii Pacific also made the first team.
Aiono, a midfielder, was also named player of the year, and Ploeger took goalkeeper of the year honors for the second straight year.
William Mahoni of the Seasiders was chosen as coach of the year.
