Hawaii happy to be home

Technically, Hawaii's game against Louisiana Tech back in October was designated as homecoming night for the Warriors.
WARRIORS FOOTBALL Idaho (2-9, 1-6 WAC) at Hawaii (5-5, 4-3), 6:05 tonight, TV: Oceanic PPV Ch. 255; Radio: KKEA 1420-AM. |
The title seems more appropriate for today's meeting with Idaho.
The Warriors (5-5, 4-3 Western Athletic Conference) return to Aloha Stadium for the first time in close to a month to face the Vandals (2-9, 1-6) and close their league schedule.
“;Whether it rains or doesn't rain, we're happy to be home,”; Hawaii coach Greg McMackin said, referring to the weekend weather forecast.
UH hasn't played in Halawa since edging Nevada in a 38-31 thriller on Oct. 25. Since then, the Warriors played two games on the mainland to complete a road schedule that covered more than 33,000 miles, including a bye last week.
The week off left the team rested and anxious for a defining stretch of three home games to close the regular season.
“;It kind of reminds me of camp,”; senior defensive tackle Keala Watson said. “;Everybody's fresh and ready to work. Everybody's just eager to get back out there.”;
Today's game also marks the conclusion of UH's 30th season of WAC play. The Warriors, currently tied for fourth, could finish second in the league standings with a win today and the right combination of results this week and next.
