Olelo Community Television will air the 14-part “;Addiction”; over a two-week span on Channel 49. The series begins Tuesday and concludes Dec. 5. The first show begins at 4:30 p.m., and all others start at 5 p.m., so set your DVR.

Though all types of addiction are covered, Olelo particularly hopes to touch some of the many lives affected by the rampant crystal meth epidemic in Hawaii, according to a statement from Alan Johnson, CEO of Hina Mauka Recovery Center and Chairman of the Hawaii Substance Abuse Coalition.

The 12-hour shoot will yield about five minutes during the show…
I'm probably overdoing Jon and Kate Gosselin, but I can't resist noting their charming vow renewal at the Grand Wailea Hotel & Resort on Maui after nine years of marriage and eight children (talk about efficient) this week on TLC. Jon and Kate almost make their situation look manageable (almost). Jon's reunion with his Hawaii-based family also added a nice local touch to the one-hour episode ...
