National gifts program awards 50 works to Academy of Arts

The Honolulu Academy of Arts is among select art institutions nation wide that will receive a gift from the “;Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection: Fifty Works for Fifty States.”;

The national gifts program, with the assistance of the National Gallery of Art, will distribute 2,500 works of contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, photography and prints by more than 170 artists.

The academy's gift will include works by Robert Barry, Don Hazlitt, Bill Jensen, Steve Keister, Mark Kostabi, Joel Perlman, David Reed, Judy Rifka, Richard Tuttle and Ruth Vollmer.
