Masked men invade Kalihi home
Two armed and masked men entered a Kalihi home yesterday morning and confronted a 37-year-old man and his brother, demanding to see another man.
Police said the suspects were wearing ski-type masks and brandishing black handguns when they entered the home at about 9:55 a.m. through an unlocked front door.
The man and his brother did not recognize the name of the person they were demanding to see, police said.
The two residents fled, and witnesses saw the two suspects leave later with two bags in a silver or white sedan, police said.

Ex-beau allegedly uses car as ram
Police arrested yesterday a 36-year-old man who allegedly used his car as a weapon in a love-triangle dispute.
The incident occurred Saturday when the suspect saw his ex-girlfriend riding in a car driven by her new boyfriend, 37, in Waimanalo.
Police said the ex-beau drove after his rival and tried to run his car off the road, all the while threatening the 24-year-old woman. After a chase that led to Enchanted Lake, the man rammed his car into the new boyfriend's car, causing it to crash, police said.
The 37-year-old was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.
The suspect was found yesterday at a Waimanalo home and arrested. His vehicle was taken as evidence.

Footsteps tip off woman to intruder
A woman who heard footsteps inside her supposedly empty house Wednesday alerted police, who found a would-be burglar lurking inside.
Police arrested the 27-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
At about 8 p.m. Wednesday, a 35-year-old woman returned to her Mokuna Place home in Palolo and, hearing footsteps, went to a neighbor's house to call police.
The woman and neighbor returned to search her home but found no one, police said. But when officers arrived, they found the intruder.
In the suspect's wallet, police found another man's identification which was recently reported stolen from a vehicle. The suspect also was allegedly carrying a glass pipe with a white narcotic residue.

Twins arrested in false kidnap report
Police arrested 14-year-old twin brothers after one of them allegedly made a false report that other had been kidnapped.
Police said that at about 3 p.m. yesterday, one of the boys reported to police that his twin brother was kidnapped on Renton Road in Ewa by four men wearing ski masks.
The boy told officers that the men fled north on Renton Road in a large white van, police said. Police saturated the area with officers searching for the van and boy.
Police determined later that the story was made up because the “;missing”; brother wanted to go out with his girlfriend, instead of going home.
The boy who made the report was arrested on suspicion of making a false report to law enforcement. His twin was taken into custody as a runaway.
Man caught after minimart robbery
Police arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Pearl City minimart Wednesday.
Police said that at about 4:45 p.m. the man walked into the store on Kamehameha Highway, brandished a gun and demanded money. He grabbed money from the cash register and fled but was found nearby and arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery, police said.

3 suspects sought in armed robbery
Police were looking for three men suspected of robbing two people at gunpoint in Kaneohe early today.
At about 12:30 a.m., a 48-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were walking near Heeia Kea pier when one of the suspects accosted him and put him in a headlock, police said.
Police said the suspect hit the man in the head and took his fanny pack. A second suspect pointed a handgun at the woman, forced her to empty her purse, and stole her belongings, police said.
The suspects were described only as being in their 30s.
