Kailua upsets No. 4 Hilo

Kayzsa Konohia put down 14 kills and Sherie Recca added 10 as unseeded Kailua ousted fourth-seeded Hilo in four sets last night in the Division II quarterfinals of the New City Nissan/HHSAA Girls State Volleyball Championships at Farrington.
Hilo, the Big Island champion, got 11 kills from Kahealani Vento-Rowe, who also led the Vikings with nine digs.
Word of Life 3, Kapolei 1
Kainoa Ocasek had 19 kills and nine digs to lead the Firebrands past the third-seeded Hurricanes. Crystal Powell and 16 kills and nine digs.
Hawaii Baptist 3, Castle 0
The top-seeded Eagles swept the Knights, led by 11 kills from Chelsie Mov and 10 from Sarah Palmer.
Molokai 3, University 2
The second-seeded Farmers came back from a set down to beat the Jr. 'Bows with the help of Danna-Lynn Hooper-Juario's 12 kills. University's Quynne Eharis had a game-high 17 kills.
