OGDEN, Utah » For one weekend, this Utah town is brimming with Hawaii football connections.

First of all, the Warriors are using Ogden as a staging area for today's game at Utah State, about an hour's drive north in Logan.

They're also sharing living space at the Ogden Marriott with Portland State, led by former Hawaii defensive coordinator Jerry Glanville and assistant Mouse Davis. The Vikings are in town for a Big Sky Conference game today at Weber State.

Speaking of Weber State, the Warriors held their final walk-through yesterday at the Wildcats' practice field.

Among the visitors to the light workout were Weber State head coach Ron McBride, whose Wildcats left Aloha Stadium with a 36-17 loss to UH on Sept. 6.

Wildcats assistant and former Baldwin coach Chad Kauhaahaa also watched practice while UH running backs coach Alex Gerke—a member of the Weber State staff last year—caught up with a few of his former colleagues.

While the reunions are fun, the focus for the Warriors (4-4, 3-2 Western Athletic Conference) today turns to business and their meeting with Utah State (1-7, 1-3).

The Warriors and Aggies were on opposite ends of dramatic finishes last weekend. While Utah State lost to Fresno State 30-28 on a 58-yard field goal as time expired, UH scored the winning touchdown with 20 seconds left in a 38-31 win over Nevada.

“;We're coming on a business trip,”; UH coach Greg McMackin said. “;I know they're going to be prepared because (Utah State's) Brent Guy is an excellent coach and he is a guy I really respect. I know his guys are going to play hard and are going to be well-coached, just like they showed last week against Fresno.”;
