Honolulu schedules unchanged
POSTED: Thursday, October 30, 2008
There will be no immediate changes to flight schedules at the Honolulu International Airport as a result of the merger announced yesterday between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. Delta has said there will be no furlough of front-line employees, while the full integration of the airlines will take up to two years.
“;From adding staffing to enhanced technology at our check-in counters, Delta is investing significant resources to ensure there is a smooth transition for customers in Honolulu as we integrate Northwest into Delta,”; Gil West, Delta's senior vice president for airport customer service, said in a statement. “;Today, it is business as usual for customers at Honolulu International Airport.”;
Honolulu passengers flying Delta or Northwest in the coming weeks should note the following merger information:
» Customers at Honolulu International Airport should continue to check in and do business directly with the airline operating their flight just as they did before the merger. Customers flying a Delta-operated flight should check in at the Delta counters in Lobby 4; those flying a Northwest-operated flight should check in at the Northwest counters in Lobby 7.
» Delta will continue operations of the airlines' separate Web sites, http://www.delta.com and www.nwa.com, as well as the two airlines' reservation systems and loyalty programs.
