That was again the case on Saturday when the Warriors went three-deep at QB in a 38-31 win over Nevada.

The plan this week will be to keep Utah State guessing leading up to a meeting with the Warriors (4-4, 3-2 Western Athletic Conference), who begin a two-game road trip against the Aggies (1-7, 1-3) this Saturday in Logan.

“;We're going to platoon again,”; McMackin said. “;Inoke (Funaki) does things with his legs and we're going to have a run-and-shoot guy ready, so we're going to let the next defensive coordinator get ready for both.”;

McMackin said the starter will be determined in practice and will also depend on the game plan the Warriors want to open with.

Funaki has started the last five games at quarterback, and alternated with Tyler Graunke in the first quarter and Greg Alexander in the third quarter against Nevada.

Funaki led the Warriors to two touchdowns, but it was Alexander who piloted the Warriors for all but one series in the second half, going 17-for-22 for 205 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 24-yard game-winner to Malcolm Lane with 20 seconds left.

After the game, McMackin said the plan was to rotate Funaki and Graunke. But Graunke, playing for the first time since Sept. 27, didn't play after throwing an interception on his second drive of the game as the staff altered the plan and sent Alexander in to start the third quarter.

“;We felt when (Graunke) threw that pick, maybe he's not quite ready yet, maybe he needs more reps,”; McMackin said. “;So the next guy in line was Greg Alexander.”;
