Learn how new media aids in boosting business
It's being touted as the islands' first “;New Media Community UnConference.”;
PodCamp + WordCamp Hawaii, to be held Friday and Saturday at the Hawaii Convention Center, will feature speakers on topics such as social media, the news Web site Alltop.com, the dynamics of group blogging, how the Wordpress software allows users to include video on their posts and how companies and women are using the Web to grow their businesses.

Mahaloz Eve Party helps Hawaii Foodbank
With reports that supplies are running low as we head into the holiday season, the Hawaii Foodbank needs kokua from the community more than ever.
From 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, the organization will hold a fundraiser, the Mahaloz Eve Party. E&O Trading Company, the Ward Centre restaurant, will be hosting the event with drinks, pupus and live entertainment, plus a silent auction and a mini-fashion show by Kisa Kosmos Clothing and Corsetry.
Tickets are $35 presale and $40 at the door, available at the restaurant and online at www.partyofsixhawaii.com.

Concert advances work at Castle Medical Center
Two top Hawaiian music groups will perform to benefit patient services and renovations at 45-year-old Castle Medical Center.
The “;Po'okela”; concerts Saturday and Sunday will feature, respectively, Na Palapalai and Na Leo. Special guests will include, on Saturday, Maunalua and hula schools Halau I Ka Wekiu and Halau Na Mamo O Pu'uanahulu; the following evening features guitarist Jeff Peterson and Kaukahi.
Tickets for the concerts, to be held at St. Louis School's Mamiya Theatre (3142 Waialae Ave.), are $95 each night. Of that amount, $30 will be tax deductible. Call 263-5163 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.

Antiques and collectibles on sale at Blaisdell event
Sunday is the 7th Annual Wiki Wiki One Day Vintage Collectibles & Hawaiiana Show.
The show will include 90 vendors from Hawaii and the mainland selling antiques and collectibles 20 years and older. Check out the range of finely crafted items being offered.
The show takes place at the suites at Blaisdell Center, running from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Admission is $4, $2 for children ages 7 to 11. Those who want to get a head start on the antique hunt at 9 a.m. can do so for the special price of $15.
