  As part of Hard Rock International's “;Pinktober”; campaign, the Waikiki restaurant hosts a party on Friday to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Hosted by Krater96's Wayne Maria, the event will feature a performance by local recording artist Mailani Makainai and a number of prize giveaways. Those in attendance will have a chance to win an autographed guitar, a pink surfboard signed by pro surfer Kekoa Cazimero and more.

The Hard Rock will also sell limited-edition pink cancer awareness pins, T-shirts and key chain. All ages are welcome; donations will be collected at the door.

  Local ska/punksters Upstanding Youth are back with another full-length CD, and will celebrate its release on Saturday at The Loft in Chinatown.

“;A Sense of Urgency”; is the band's fourth album since the six-piece band formed in 2001. The band describes the new disc as having “;deeper textures and a more distinctive rock edge.”;

Doors for the 21-and-over release party open at 8 p.m. Saturday, with a $5 cover charge in effect at the door. Upstanding Youth will play after opening sets by Black Square and Busekrus.
