The magazine won't hit newsstands until Tuesday but its contents are online now, complete with downloadable pdf files for your leisurely perusal.
The islands themselves scored the best overall against worldwide competitors, scoring “;five of the top ten (island) spots,”; the magazine reports.
Maui was the global winner, scoring 89.5 points, while Kauai's 87 points ranks it No. 2 in the world among Conde Nast readers.
Among the top 10 Pacific Islands, the Big Island ranked No. 6 with 81.9 points, Oahu scored an 80.4 for seventh place and Lanai is eighth with 78.0.
Island grades were based on activities, atmosphere/ambience, beaches, friendliness, lodging, restaurants and scenery.
The magazine's top cities ranking is broken out by region and Honolulu was ranked the No. 7 U.S. city to visit with 78.4 points. San Francisco was No. 1 with 85.2 points. Sorry ninth-island visitors, Vegas didn't win a top 10 spot.
Cities were rated on atmosphere/ambience; culture/sites; friendliness; lodging; restaurants and shopping.
But wait, this is a business column, so how did Hawaii businesses within the hospitality industry do?
They ranked quite nicely in the Conde Nast Top 100 “;Best of the Best”; around the world.
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle Chiang Rai at 98.5 was the overall winner. Hawaii's top entry was Four Seasons Maui at Wailea with 96 points, tied for No. 14 overall with Jao Camp, Okavango Delta.
The magazine's best of the best hotels also includes Four Seasons Hualalai in a three-way tie for 38th place with 94.5; and the Four Seasons Lanai, The Lodge at Koele 92.5 in a 14-way tie for No. 94.
Conde Nast's Top Resorts lists also were broken out by region with Hawaii getting its own top 25 list. It is topped by Four Seasons Resorts - Maui at Wailea at 96.0; Hualalai at 94.5; Lanai, The Lodge at Koele at 92.5, Lanai at Manele Bay at 91.6; and at No. 5 is Halekulani at 90.7.
The magazine glowingly writes, “;The Pacific Rim claims all of North America's top-rated resorts,”; with top-ranking Four Seasons Wailea being the next words you will read.
Its domestic airlines list also includes Hawaiian Airlines ranked No. 4 with 48.6 points. Virgin America tops that list at 75.0.
More than 32,000 Conde Nast readers can't be wrong, right?
