Now in its third “;season,”; the Honolulu Academy of Arts' “;Friends of Film Friday”; is back after a hiatus this summer.
Under the direction of film curator Gina Caruso, 15 art films have been selected for screenings at the Doris Duke Theatre. Two movies will be shown per month through May 2009.
The documentary “;America, the Beautiful”; kicks things off this week, followed by screenings on Oct. 17 and 24 as well as Nov. 7, 14 and 21. Tickets are $15; $12 for museum members; discounted package deals are also available. Visit www.friendsoffilmfriday.com.
