”;Mai Tai Rumble”;

The annual “;Mai Tai Rumble”; returns to Ala Moana Center for the eighth year, with more than $30,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs in two divisions: Island Music and Open Mic.
Competition starts at 7 p.m. every Tuesday for the next 10 weeks, with Island 98.5's Mento Mele hosting the festivities.
A weekly “;Rumble Aftershock”; will feature some of Hawaii's top island music bands; Ooklah the Moc will perform Tuesday, followed by Paula Fuga and Dubkonscious on Oct. 14, Beach 5 on Oct. 21 and Rebel Souljahz on Oct. 28.
Natural Vibrations will perform after the “;Mai Tai Rumble”; finals on Dec. 2.
WEDNESDAY
”;Sessions @ Du Vin”;

Du Vin's weekly musical showcase, “;Sessions,”; offers an affordable midweek entertainment option for fans of jazz and acoustic guitar.
On Wednesday, Howard Nett and Reggie Padilla will play what they describe as “;classy jazz”; backed by guitar and saxophone.
Shoji Ledward will follow on Oct. 15 with a mix of acoustic jazz and Hawaiian with contemporary guitar. And on Oct. 22, James McCarthy will play a solo set of folk rock and acoustic jams.
Performances start at 7 p.m. each week at Du Vin, with no cover and no drink minimum.
