Hawaii’s Hou in fifth at Farr tourney

Hawaii golfer Corie Hou is in a tie for fifth place and four strokes off the lead after two rounds of the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Boulder, Colo.

Hou, a junior from Clovelly, Australia, shot rounds of 1-under 71 and 3-under 69 heading into today's final round.

The Rainbow Wahine are tied for 15th place in the team competition.

Hawaii Pacific defeats BYUH in golf

Hawaii Pacific's Justin Aragon earned medalist honors with an even-par 72 to lead the Sea Warriors past Brigham Young-Hawaii in a men's golf match yesterday at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course.

Freshman Curtis Smith led the Seasiders with a 3-over 75.

 

Academy of Art tops BYUH in soccer

Academy of Art defeated Brigham Young-Hawaii 2-1 in men's soccer yesterday in San Francisco.

Junior Bryan Neal had the lone goal for the Seasiders (2-7-1) on a pass from senior Brian Noguera.

» Mesa State shut out BYUH 1-0 in women's soccer yesterday in Laie.

Kira Brennan had the lone goal for Mesa State (7-3). The Seasiders dropped to 6-3.

» Cal State San Bernardino defeated Chaminade 7-1 in men's soccer yesterday in California.

Jose Godinez led the Coyotes (4-5-1) with three goals. Chad Thompson had the lone goal for the Silverswords (1-9-1), who went up 1-0 before Cal State San Bernardino scored seven straight goals.

 

UHH in sixth place in golf tourney

The Hawaii-Hilo golf team is in sixth place after yesterday's first round of the NCAA Division II Preview at Blaine, Wash.

The Vulcans' Bishara Ari is also in fifth place after shooting a 1-under 70, and Jesus Valdivia is tied for 13th at even-par 71.

  Nova Southeastern leads the team race at 285. UHH is seven strokes back at 292 heading into today's second round.
