Hawaii will have several streaks on the line when the Warriors embark on their “;new season”; tonight.

San Jose State (2-2) at Hawaii (1-2), 6:05 p.m. today, PPV Ch. 255, KKEA, 1420-AM

Heading into their Western Athletic Conference opener against San Jose State, the Warriors have won:

» 15 consecutive WAC games;

» nine straight at Aloha Stadium;

» and seven in a row over the Spartans.

Still, it's the task ahead rather than the deeds behind that concern the defending WAC champions tonight.

“;All we're thinking about is doing everything we can as a team to beat San Jose State,”; Hawaii head coach Greg McMackin said. “;All the rest of it doesn't matter. When you start thinking about all that stuff, it all gets bogged down. All we want to do is win one game a week.”;

After a 1-2 start in nonconference play, the Warriors have spoken frequently of starting fresh as they enter the WAC schedule. They had a bye week to heal up and address issues on offense and special teams.

Quarterback Tyler Graunke practiced this week while getting treatment on thumb and wrist injuries and could share playing time with Inoke Funaki tonight as the Warriors face the WAC's top-rated defense.

San Jose State coach Dick Tomey returns to Aloha Stadium, where he posted 50 victories as Hawaii coach and one with Arizona in 1998, looking for his first win over UH since taking command of the Spartans program.
