Whether due to injury or strategy, Hawaii football coach Greg McMackin isn't going to declare a starting quarterback for tomorrow's game against San Jose State just yet, calling it “;a game-time decision.”;

Tyler Graunke steadily progressed through the week as he recovers from a sprained thumb and wrist on his throwing hand and again split the repetitions with Inoke Funaki yesterday. Both could see action when the Warriors (1-2) open Western Athletic Conference play against the Spartans (2-2) at Aloha Stadium.

“;Tyler's really coming along,”; McMackin said after the team's final full practice prior to the game. “;He's had three practices throwing the ball and it's going to be a game-time decision. Inoke's practiced well and (Graunke) gets better every day. I'm going to wait to the last day.”;

Graunke, who suffered the injury against Oregon State, resumed practicing on Tuesday and received more repetitions as the week progressed. Funaki got most of the work during UH's bye week and has thrown the ball with greater authority in recent practices. He went 4-for-4 in a red-zone drill to close yesterday's workout.

The Warriors have started three different quarterbacks in their first three games, with none lasting into the fourth quarter.
