Bangles to perform on New Year's Eve

Tickets go on sale Monday for the Bangles' New Year's Eve concert at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

After 15 years apart, original bandmates Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson and Vicki Peterson reunited in 2003 and released “;Doll Revolution.”;

They'll perform their '80s hits—remember “;Manic Monday,”; “;Walk Like An Egyptian”; and “;Eternal Flame”;?—from 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 31 until the clock strikes midnight. Pre-show entertainment begins at 9:30 p.m.; doors open at 9 p.m.

Food Network show features mac nuts

Hawaiian Host's chocolate-covered macadamia nuts will be featured on Food Network's “;Unwrapped”; at 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The episode, “;Go Nuts!,”; includes Hawaiian Host along with Blue Diamond's Smokehouse Almonds, Larabar Trail Mix, Paramount Farms' Pistachios, NECCO's Squirrel Nut Zippers and See's Peanut Brittle.

Workshop to be given in Hawaiian

A session presented entirely in the Hawaiian language will be part of next week's three-day Native Hawaiian Convention at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Hosts will be filmmaker Na'alehu Anthony and Amy Kalili, who anchors a two-minute news report in Hawaiian as part of KGMB's daily “;Sunrise Show.”;

Their session, “;'Olelo Hawai'i in the Mainstream Media,”; takes place Wednesday.

The conference runs Tuesday through Thursday, with more than 50 speakers, and forums on business, culture and politics.

Soft Glass Art & Bead holding exhibition this weekend

Those who stop by the Soft Glass Art & Bead Festival at Ward Warehouse this weekend will be able to check out the work of 28 exhibitors, including the whimsical animal menagerie of Kim Yamakawa, a local glass bead artist who recently placed second in a national Bead & Button magazine Bead Dreams contest for a collection of handcrafted silver-and-glass rings called “;Giggles and Smiles.”;

Her JuJu Beadz, including zany pop-eyed lampwork puppies, kittens, cows, pigs and even clams—will put a smile on your face and fans swear the animals' personalities spring to life upon close inspection.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free.

Wacoal leads fight
