COMING UP
Art and archeology take center stage Sunday at UH-Manoa
Elizabeth Ann Morris will speak on “;Art and Archaeology: Working Together to Understand Prehistoric American Cultures,”; at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, Art Building Room 101.
Morris, professor emerita in archaeology at Colorado State University, is known for her work in Native American archaeology, particularly regarding kivas, shrines, textiles and finely woven sandals.
The daughter of renowned archeologists Earl Morris, a premier scholar of Southwestern archaeology, and Ann Axtell Morris, author of “;Digging in Yucatan”; and “;Digging in the Southwest,”; Morris can trace her interest in the field to visiting her father's excavations as a child.
