Teenager charged in theft attempt
Authorities arrested and charged an 18-year-old Kapahulu man Thursday who allegedly tried to take an expensive watch from an Ala Moana jewelry store in February and allegedly used a knife during a struggle with a security officer.
Johann Pack's bail was set at $15,000 on the charge of attempted first-degree theft. Police said he looked at expensive watches on Feb. 21, then tried to leave the store wearing one. He allegedly pulled a knife on a guard who tried to detain him, dropped the watch and fled.
Pack was identified through a tip to CrimeStoppers.
Accused burglar is 12-year-old boy
A 12-year-old boy was arrested and released pending further investigation Friday after he allegedly broke into an Aliamanu home. Police said a witness observed the suspect enter the home at about 5:25 p.m.
The witness detained the juvenile as he was leaving the home with some items, police said.

Rash of break-ins reported on Kauai
Kauai police reported Friday that there were five break-ins of cars parked at different homes and one residential burglary in Kalaheo last week. Items stolen included an iPod, a camera and cash. Police said all the vehicles and the home had been left unlocked and had no alarms.
