The Hawaii Foodbank's Healthcare Coalition will hold a food drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at Tamarind Park in downtown Honolulu.

The most wanted canned items are meats, meals, soups, vegetables and fruits.

“;My team and I would like to raise awareness throughout the downtown community by helping to collect money and food to help feed Hawaii's hungry,”; said Dr. Cecile Sebastian, Honolulu dentist and coalition volunteer.

The Hawaii Foodbank distributes 723,426 pounds of food each month through a network of agencies and provides food for about 131,862 residents annually, according to the coalition.
