RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. » Michelle Wie tied for fourth at the LPGA Tour's sectional qualifying school, advancing to December's final stage as she tries to earn playing privileges on the top women's golf circuit.

Wie shot a 1-under-par 71 on the Dinah Shore course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. She finished at 8-under for the week, 8 strokes behind medalist Sun-Ju Ahn of South Korea, who shot a 4-under 68 during her fourth round.
Amateur Anna Nordqvist of Sweden was the runner-up at 14 under after a 2-under finish, and Japan's Miki Saiki was third at 12 under. Japan's Shiho Oyama and Texan Stacy Lewis tied Wie.
