Illness led duo into healing
Zhi Chen Guo was very ill as a child, but was turned away from medical care because he had no money. Zhi Gang Sha nearly died from a severe allergic reaction to penicillin. Both were healed through acupuncture and grew up to become master healers, sharing their techniques in China and beyond.
Sha studied tai chi at the age of 6; qigong at 10 and later became Guo's disciple. He has served as personal physician for many to Chinese government officials and treated officials in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan. From Guo he learned the medical science of Zhi Neng, which combines principles of Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine with energy and spiritual healing.
Over the years, Sha has also mastered the art of Shaolin kung fu, I Ching and feng shui, in addition to becoming a medical doctor, a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, an herbalist and an acupuncturist.
Recently Sha revisited his teacher's Chinese clinic to film the documentary "Soul Masters," directed and produced by Sande Zeig. " 'Soul Masters' movie gives the insight of the teaching and healing practices of my spiritual father," Sha said.
The film offers a glimpse behind the scenes at Guo's clinic, and Zeig following Sha to various venues - including Hawaii - where he conducts workshops and healings.
Sha explains that all sickness occurs on a cellular level, due to energy and spiritual blockages. "When a cell contracts, the cell makes chi (vital energy)," he said. Too much chi can cause depression, inflammation, tumors or pain. Insufficient energy also causes disease.
His newest teachings include a "soul over matter" approach. "We hear a lot about mind over matter these days. Research has proven the power of the mind," he said.
Although it hasn't gained the same popularity, "soul over matter" describes how the soul, or a person's spirit, can bring about healing, rejuvenation, prolonged life and transformation, he explained. "Soul is the essence of life. The soul has great power to heal, bless and transform your life."
For the last five years, Sha has presented these principles at more than 10 international scientific and medical conferences. He has also traveled the globe - making stops in more than 100 locations in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
The techniques he shares may also be used to heal relationship problems and financial difficulties. "Heal and transform the soul first, then healing and transformation of every aspect of life will follow," he said.
"Surgeons use a knife to do an operation. ... Soul operations are not a medical service. I use divine light to operate on the area and spiritually remove the blockages."
