Makalei Golf Club has kamaaina discount
Makalei Golf Club, in upcountry Kailua-Kona, is offering "Four Play for the Price of Three" for kamaaina through Oct. 31.
Makalei's usual green fee for Hawaii residents is $55 (standard fee is $89). The foursome special offers the $55 rate for the first three players, with the fourth player free, for an average of $41.25 per person. The rate is good for morning tee times up to 11 a.m., subject to availability. Each golfer must show a Hawaii driver's license.
Makalei is an 18-hole championship course overlooking the Big Island's Kona-Kohala Coast. Distinctive features on the championship length, 1,800- to 2,850-foot elevation course include lava tubes and cinder cones.
