Graunke, reinstated to the team less than two weeks ago after resolving academic issues, replaced Inoke Funaki to open the third quarter and rallied the Warriors (1-1) to a 36-17 win over Weber State.

With the offense sputtering in the first half and Weber State leading 17-7 at the break, Graunke was summoned from the bench and finished 13-for-20 for 218 yards and three second-half scores, two going to slotback Aaron Bain.

Weber State's Cameron Higgins, a Saint Louis alum, was impressive early in his return to Aloha Stadium as the Wildcats bolted to the lead. He finished 24-for-40 for 233 yards and a touchdown.

But the Warriors defense shut out the Wildcats after the break to help secure Hawaii's ninth straight home win.

After Hawaii took a 7-0 lead on Leon Wright-Jackson's 4-yard run, the Warriors offense sputtered, while Higgins drove Weber State to 17 unanswered points. Running back Trevyn Smith scored twice, on a 1-yard run and a 3-yard dart from Higgins following a UH fumble deep in its own territory.

Funaki, making his first start since high school, went 7-for-14 for 87 yards in the first half before being relieved by Graunke, who tossed a 42-yard score to Malcolm Lane on UH's first possession of the third quarter.

An interception by Keao Monteilh set up the go-ahead score, a 2-yard run by Kealoha Pilares and Graunke's two scoring throws to Bain gave UH control of the contest.
