STAR-BULLETIN / 2006
Absentee voters were at Honolulu Hale for the 2006 primary election.

More options available to cast early primary votes

Star-Bulletin Staff

People who want to vote early for the primary election will have more options beginning tomorrow, according to a news release from the state Office of Elections.

In Honolulu, voters can walk in to vote absentee at two new locations: the University of Hawaii Campus Center and the Aiea Shopping Center.

The satellite city hall in Pearlridge Center will no longer be a polling place.

There are also some changes on the Big Island with new and different locations in Kona, Hilo and Pahoa compared with 2006.

Walk-in absentee voting begins tomorrow and continues until Sept. 18, two days before the primary election on Saturday, Sept. 20.

It's also not too late to request a mail-in absentee ballot. But the application must be received by Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the city or county clerk where the registered voter lives.

Mail-in absentee ballot applications are available at the office of the city or county clerk, satellite city halls, U.S. Post Offices, all public libraries and all state agencies.
