Yoga for all

A free day of yoga will be held tomorrow at studios across Oahu, sponsored by lululemon athletica. Beachhouse chef offers classes

Chef Rodney Uyehara of the new Beachhouse restaurant will host a series of cooking classes, beginning Saturday.

The hands-on Gourmet Cooking Hawaii class, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Beachhouse in the Sheraton Moana, will cover a menu of Fresh Spinach Gnocchi, Braised Veal Cheeks and Fresh Berry Pudding.

Cost is $99, which includes a three-course meal and a chef's apron. Wine pairings with the meal are $19 more.

Classes with Uyehara will continue on Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 13. Call 735-7788.

Ruth's to feature kamaaina discount

Ruth's Chris Steak House celebrates the 10th anniversary of its Lahaina location with a 25 percent kamaaina discount through September at both Maui locations -- Lahaina and Wailea.

Sam Choy helps Special Olympics

Chef Sam Choy will donate a portion of all sales at his Nimitz Highway restaurant next weekend to Special Olympics Hawaii.

The donation covers sales of breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch on Saturday and next Sunday. Call 545-7979.
