Straub lauded for physicals for executives
Straub Clinic & Hospital was one of 13 hospitals recognized recently by Fortune for its executive physical program.
Straub's Occupational Health Services' "Executive Health Exam" was included in the "Where to Go for a Physical" list with some of the country's most prestigious medical facilities, such as the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins. Straub's program was developed in response to corporations seeking to provide more comprehensive health checkups for their executives.
Vanita Rae Smith, longtime producer-director of Hawaii's Army Community Theatre, received the David C. Bryant Outstanding Service Award from the American Association of Community Theatres for her service to community theater.
Kendra Vega, a seventh-grader at Kapaa Middle School, was the $1,000 grand-prize winner in the 2008 Hawaii Pizza Hut and Hawaii State Public Library System Teen Summer Reading "Back to School Shopping Spree" Sweepstakes contest. Tia Bryant, a Stevenson Middle School eighth-grader, won $500 for second place; and Jeremy Brouard, a Kailua Intermediate School seventh-grader, the $250 third-place award.
