» Brandon League (Saint Louis) has thrown 13 2/3 consecutive shutout innings in his last 11 appearances, lowering his ERA this season to 2.08. The righty flamethrower has been sharing eighth-inning duties with veteran Scott Downs.
» Kila Kaaihue (Iolani) was walked twice in Thursday's 5-0 loss to Memphis, giving him 16 walks in 23 games playing for Triple-A Omaha. The first baseman has 96 walks this season, the most in the minor leagues. Kaaihue also ranks first in on-base percentage (.459) among full-season minor leaguers.
» Rex Rundgren (Mid-Pacific) was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization on Wednesday. The shortstop was signed by the Dodgers after being released by the Florida Marlins shortly after spring training. Rundgren played sparingly for Triple-A Las Vegas due to various injuries that landed him on the disabled list on three separate occasions. He had only 108 at-bats in 40 games with Las Vegas this season.
» Jerome Williams (Waipahu) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four in a 12-0 victory over Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday. It was Williams' first win playing for Las Vegas.
» Brandon Villafuerte (Big Island) picked up his fifth save in five chances on Wednesday, striking out four of the game's last five batters in a 7-5 win over Triple-A New Orleans. Villafuerte has 52 strikeouts against 21 walks this season.
» The San Diego Padres organization demoted pitcher Tyler Davis (Hawaii) from Triple-A Portland back down to Single-A Eugene on Thursday. Davis was promoted to Portland from Eugene on Aug. 9 and pitched in four games for the Beavers, compiling a 14.54 ERA.
